Has anyone thought of or tried using compression software to save space on the internal memory? Does it work? Which program did you use? I've got a TT1 3rd edition and with no SD slot.......... I'd like to be able to upgrade from the "LITE" version and use the Western Europe maps.

The TT operating system does not behave like a PC

The VERY focused operating system functionality of your TomTom is not capable of using applications that were not specifically written for it. At this point in time, TomTom is not enabling third-party developers to write applications for your version TT and all other models and versions going forward. TomTom quit providing a software development kit (SDK) as of the release of the Navcore 7 system. They have stated that they have no plans of providing one in the future. Without the SDK, the developers have no information about the code that TomTom is using.
