Good afternoon everyone. I am having some trouble understanding why currently closed roads (e.g. parts of Rue Edouarde Branley, Bourges) are shown correctly on MyDrive Connect mapping (on my PC) but not on my new TomTom Go Navigator. I have done all the updates. Do I need to use some other way of displaying the correct information on my TomTom device please?

Is your device connected to TomTom's server and receiving traffic data?

Hmmm...... yes, it seems to be receiving local traffic data (that is local to me in the UK) so perhaps I need to be closer to my destination in France before it will pick up the road closure that I referred to in my original enquiry? How would I know whether the device is connected to the TomTom server please? Does it link to the server via my mobile phone perhaps? Thanks for your help!

Yes, properly configured, it will use your phone to move data to/from the TomTom servers.

You can tell whether or not you've got a traffic connection by looking in the upper right corner of the screen while you are driving any planned route. It'll look like something like this if you have traffic data

or something like this if you don't

As has been pointed out, it would be impractical to give you traffic too far from your route or current location, so you may well have to be closer before you'll see what you need in the way of closed roads.

That’s all very helpful! Thank you all very much for responding to my queries. Now I understand a little better!
