tomtom usually charges when your computer is on . You don't have to be connected to tomtom home for this to happen . If you shut off your computer usually their is no charging. However, their are some newer computers that will charge when off

Thank you. Since it does not blink, I was not sure. I did not want to leave it outside in a car charging if I could do it indoors on my PC.
