Changing Map on XL

I have a Tom Tom XL 30 with the map of Western Europe pre installed. I am going to Florida on holiday soon and am intending to purchase the USA & Canada map. As my unit has no SD card slot I am going to need to take the Western Europe map off and replace it with the USA & Canada map then reverse the procedure when I get home.
Is there anything I need to be careful of? Is this likely to be a trouble free process?

Just use Explorer to copy the European map folder to the computer. When you are sure it's there, then remove the folder from the unit, dl and install the USA map on the unit.

When you return, just move the US map to the computer and use Explorer to copy back the European folder.

It's best to make a complete Explorer backup prior to removing the European map. Ensure hidden files/folders are showing.
