Changing Directions

For the last 6 mths my Tomtom has given me the correct directions to go to the cottage which includes crossing a river via ferry. Starting last week it now does not recognize the ferry and says to go a route that adds 60km to the drive. I checked and the settings are correct around ferries-i.e. not to avoid.

We usually lend it out to guests who are coming but now it is wrong. Wondering what other directions could be wrong.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

The usual questions:
1. What model?
2. What map version?
3. What application?
4. Any changes you made just prior to noticing the change?
5. Using IQ routing?
6. What settings under planning preference? Fastest?

Your answers obviously point to the map update that you did last week.

Browse the map and find the ferry crossing. Is it now shown as an impassible route?
Ferries are usually shown as blue dotted lines and can be selected with a finger tap.

Without divulging the location of the cottage, can you point us to the location of the ferry? (Lat/Long coordinates are easiest for us. You can find those by selecting them in the "Advanced" options on the 'Show map' page.

The ferry crossing is in Cumberland, Ontario off of Cameron Street. This is just east of Ottawa. Crosses the Ottawa river to Masson Angiers

As Andy suggested, use "View map" and pan over to that area to see if the ferry still shows up, and if so, how the route looks (color, solid/dashed, etc.). It sounds like map 890 may have 'lost' your ferry.
