Cannot Change the Time

Not sure how long it's been like it but I traveled to Colorado last week and went to change the time on my TT550 and found that it was grayed out. :(

Anyone know why it would do this?

Should only happen when you don't have a satellite lock yet. Can you change it now?

Hope you enjoyed Colorado!

I've never had that happen.
Sitting here at my desk, I have no satellite lock and I can manually set the time on any of the TomToms in front of me.
The only thing missing until they acquire signal lock is the "sync" button.

So far, I can't think of any other reason for the "Set clock" button to be greyed out though. :(

Guess I shouldn't have talked about a satellite lock. ONE satellite is enough to do the trick. It's when you don't have the 'clock spinner' indicator (some models) which is to say, no satellite comms to pull down a time signal, that there's no way the clock would know what to do. The adjustment is supposed to be time zone against GPS time. AFAIK, these units don't have RTC chips in them... at least none of mine seem to.

First of all, yup I did enjoy Colorado. Always do :)

This is weird. I have full Sat lock on the GPS. I'm navigating or can just have it turned on so I can see NSWE (although not such a problem in Denver!) but the clock is grayed out/faded.

Hmmm...

I was pretty sure it wasn't anything to do with satellite lock.

I checked all my models (including a x50 series unit) and even with NO satellites found, I could still adjust the time on every one of them.

But that doesn't help you, Abb0.

I presume you have tried resetting the unit (holding down the power switch for 20 seconds or so until you hear the drum roll).
If that doesn't fix it, I think it's time to reinstall the software. There are loads of topics here where it's explained how to do that, but if you have problems finding one, just ask.

Just a quick update on this. I uploaded the new map pack and the issue still remains. This is very weird. Hmmm.
Need to have more of a play I think :suspicious:

Did you ever reinstall the SOFTWARE though?
