I just purchased a TT1 from Best Buys and I couldn't figure how to get things started, I saw a SD slot, so I think somehow my computer thinks that my SD card is my TT1.

Does that make sense (sorry) but I can't seem to get maps. That's where I'm stuck on the installation part. please help.

Thanks, Tanner

Leave the SD slot empty. Everything is contained on internal memory. Just turn the unit on and it should function.

To "simplyfie": there are 2 versions of TT1: one whith low internal memory (32MB) and SD-slot + SD-card and one whith large internal memory (1GB) and SD-slot but no SD-card.
The 1st one has everything installed on the SD-card.
The 2nd one has everything installed on the internal memory.

Unfortunaly the 2nd one TT1 handles memory very badly.
If You want, for some reason (installing larger maps), use SD-card on that version, you have to install everything (navcore, maps,....)on the SD-card.
TT can't handle bouth internal and SD-card att the same time.
So buy at least 2GB card, otherwise you would not win anything.

Thanks guys! It seems that I must have lost all the info on the 1gig internal memory, so I think I'll just return it and pick up a new one. Man I suck a this! Thanks for the quick reply! - tann

Maybe a dumb question but does the SD card that came with the TomTom One V2 do anything if the maps are internal?

ONE v2 doesn't work that way, as in maps are not kept internal. All the software is kept on the SD card.

On a ONE XL for example, the device has the maps internal, however when an SD card is inserted the internal memory is disabled so unless you have copied the software to the SD card you'll card the animation of inserting the SD card (even if one is in the slot).
