Can anyone tell me it's ok to charge my xl 330-s with a cell phone charger

If my motorola cell phone charger fits perfectly into my xl 330-s is there any real reason I can't use it to plug into a wall outlet and not have to usb it. Would be much more convenient. I'm guessing there is no danger in doing so. Anyone out there know for sure? I don't want to zap the thing.

TomTom chargers I have are 5V and 1.0 amp so use that as a guideline.

My Motorola charger reads 5V but does not specify amps. I guess I'll check with Motorola if I can. Can't risk zapping my tomtom. Thanks

When you plug you unit into a computer it is charged through the usb cable. Any charge with a mini usb connect would likely work. I tried using the TomTom on my dead motorola phone, and it just didn't seem to have enough amperage to manage it. You should be OK with trying it. USB uses standard voltage.
