Hi I have just purchased an xxl its fine but there is a slight problem when you aproach certain speed cameras it will only give you an indication when you are going towards the camera lens and it gives you nothing when you are going away from the lens which is the way it's supposed to work can anyone help me with this problem
thanks

Speed camera warnings using the TomTom database is directional in that it will only warn you on approach to a camera in the direction in which you you will get caught.

It won't warn you as you are going away from a camera, neither will it warn you of a camera on the otherside of the road.

Why the need to be warned about when going away from a camera? if you pass one while your speeding you will get fined, there is a need to warn prior to the event not afterwards - Mike

speed cameras

Thanks for your reply mikealder you said that it wil;l only give you warning in the direction that you will get caught well on the aproach to certain cameras it does not give you any warning in the direction that you will get caught .
thanks

What I described is how its supposed to work however you should be aware their database isn't very accurate and contains very few mobile camera locations. I use the database offered by PocketGPSWorld.com its far more accurate and is updated each week, configured correctly this can read out the type of camera and rated speed, this isn't directional so you always get the warning when using it on a TomTom - Mike
