I've noticed a problem where the Tomtom's auto-reroute traffic option only works if the current detour route has traffic on it.
So if traffic shows up on your route, tomtom properly routes around it. But if there's no traffic on your alternate route, tomtom never checks to see if the original route cleared up and should be used again.
Tomtom will recalculate a fastest route approximately every 5 minutes if your current route/detour has traffic on it, but is still the fastest way to go. It should also check when on a detour, even if the detour is clear.
This issues has been reported in numerous forums. I'm just documenting it in preparation for my updated bug list.
