The BT headset that comes with Rider 2 is designed to open up via the supplied allen wrench and clamp down on the lower edge of the helmet, As I look at my helmet, the lower edge is very thick (a Shoei full face Multi tec).. so how does the headset screw down on the edge.. What is it that I am not getting? Looks like the clamp won't open enough so I can screw it down on th edge.. Do I need a new helmet? Will it work at all with a full face helmet?

You will have to gently pull out some of the helmet liner in order to get the mount secured. The mount isnt designed or intended to "grap" the full thickness of the helmet shell/liner.

I have mine mounted on 2 different brand full face (flip up) helmets.

Cheers

rcacs is right...

Slide the inside piece up between the helmet shell and the liner then clamp down. Mine is on a full face modular helmet.

Sliding something up makes a lot more sense that "gently" removing something.. I don't want to comprimise the purpose of the helmet..

Perhaps I didnt explain it well....

On both of my helmets, i was able to remove part of the liner as it is snapped into place on one helmet and velcro and tucked on the other. By doing so I could easily slide the mount up between the shell and liner.

Different helmets may require different approaches to attach the mount

cheers

When I changed over to the multitech I had to replace the standard mic with the extended boom version. Am I the only one?

How do I get the longer boom for mine.. & Schnitzel.. Exactly what did you have to do to get the headset to mount on the Mult tec.. I looked this weekend and it doesn't *look* like the lining comes away at all.. appears to be pretty well attached.. I was actually wondering it I would have to take a razor blade to cut a slit in it or something..

I ordered the extended boom from the cardo online store. It was for the original standard bt unit that came with the Rider2 a few years ago. It has the advantage that it has 2 speakers which makes it easier to hear.
To get it to fit on the helmet I prised the inner lining away from the outer shell using something flat and broad, there is only a thin line of glue holding them together. Flip the helmet up, remove the sound barrier thing if you fitted it and take out the cheek pad. Start at the front and work your way toward the rear.
