Brows by text

Do any current models have the brows route by text feature. My One XL-S has been damaged.I purchased a 550 but returned it to the store as it did not have the brows by text feature.

Yeah, the 550 comes with 'EasyMenu' which is greatly simplified and many reduced user options .... as you found out.

The 535 and 540 series come with the full menu structure. The 535 has USA_Canada while the 540 includes Mexico.

The 540 series seems popular with North American folk these days.

Both Best Buy and Future Shop should offer it. The prices for each store do often differ.

Ok. thanks for the info and the welcome. It was future shop that I was dealing with,but no one was familiar with the browse by text feature.So anything with the easy menu should be avoided by the looks of it.The prices on your link are better than in store.

Can the IQ route feature be turned off on these models?I just looked at the manual on line and could not see any reference to it?

Your question is timely...

Tomtom just released a new software update to the 550. It added the ability to:
- choose whether to enable/disable IQroutes
- and browse by text

The 540 still has more features then the 550, but the new software update closed the gap.
