Is there a way to show brand types along the route like my old GO 510 had? All I'm getting is the gas station pump symbol along my routes rather than the Shell or Exxon symbol posting. These appear to be in the brand folder. I have a new XXL

Verify (Use Explorer) that within the USA_Canada map folder on your unit, you DO have a brand folder.

If it is there, there the appropriate symbol should 'kick in' and show on your map [if you have that category set to show] regardless of whether the category is gas stations, hotels, etc.

Specifically, you will be looking for 7311_x.bmp files. Those are the ones associated with fuel stations.

Three further questions

If I check the appropriate category in "Show POI on Map" like "Gas Stations" does each different gas station vendor show up with its own icon? Or do I have to build a separate category for each gas station vendor?

Lastly can I use the Brand folder to store my own vendor icons or do they have to be in the map folder?

Yet other questions

Can I add other 7311-x icons for other station types? . Don't know how they are linked.

7311_1.bmp is Shell
7311_3.bmp is Chevron
7311_6.bmp is Phillips 66
7311_7.bmp is Sinclair

So, if you go here, scroll down to United States/Petrol and download some bmp files like Exxon and Texaco, for example, rename them with a number in the 7311 series not being used and place them in the brand folder, it might work.

Nope, doesn't seem to work.

After initial try rezised to 24 x 24 x 8 BPP, didn't work either.
Renamed to 7311_1.bmp, it still shows the original Shell icon which I had given a different name.

We now have to weight for the computer heads to tell us how TomTom uses them.

Should be 22x22 and 24 bpp color. Won't work any other way.

While we're adding them...

7311_2 is Conoco
7311_4 is 76
7311_5 is Texaco
