Brand new-is it broken

Just received a new TomTom one today. Turned it on and it finds my location and shows the street on a map. However, cannot set any locations. If you type in a city (Plano, Tx in my case) it comes up with a short list of cities in other states. Try to type in my zip code (75075) and it says no cities found on every digit entered.

tried reset, tried updates. No use.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it busted?

It's not busted, it's a map problem. Can you tell us what version you have?

Also, the device has restarted itself about 5 times in the few hours I've had it turned on.

Something is wrong.
Just entered both the city name then tried zip, they both show up on my unit with 665.1293 map.

When i type in the city, I dont just Plano, I type in "Plano TX"

If the unit is constantly reseting itself, then I would recommend exchanging the unit for another.
