Now I have a really BIG issue! I am leaving on 3 month snowbird trip in 10 days, it's Christmas so not likely to receive any TomTom support.:(

I downloaded version 7.162 and had issues with Backup choking on certain filenames. I had to reset each time because the device TT1-XLS hung when the backup did not work.

Following a support email response, I logged into TomTom Home, clicked on update. Was told there was a new map and GPS. Clicked that. Told me I had to delete several products to make room for new map and new GPS. Did that. In total 19 items were deleted, Quick GPS Fix downloaded and USA Canada map downloaded BUT at Install was told not enough free space needed to remove another 190kb.

the only thing to remove was the GPS QuickFix. Was this the previous download??. didn't know so I disconnected and logged off. Got a big red X on the device.

Using TomTomhome again I reconnected. Removed the said QuickGPSFix downloaded hoping that was the final bit to allow for update install.

Clicked on Operate my Device. Told I needed a file downloaded. clicked that and am told the File is not currently available.

clicked on Update my device. Told my device is up-to-date. click on Show contents - told No items Available total capacity 977.9MB Free 902.1MB

There is nothing to remove! where do I get the add'l 190kb? So now what??????????

Summary: No contents - nothing to Remove - says Device is Up-to-Date. Turn device Off - turn device On BIG RED X and nothing. Reset merely turn device off

this issue started with version 7.162 and the backup choking so don't have a backup just the BIG RED X.

Help!

I had a similar problem with my ONE a couple months ago. It sounds like the map that you're trying to install is the wrong one. I finally had to bite the bullet and call support to solve this problem for me.
