how long should the battery stay charged in my XL330S as mine goes dead in about a week if not used in the car. THANKS

Not sure how long, but some members have suggested doing a reset if you are shutting it down for an extended period, as this is supposed to completely shut it down.

I am surprised that it is that short a period, as i have left both my original 910 and current 920 off fer weeks and had a pretty well charged device when I checked on it.

Give it a try.

I have the TOMTOM XL340S my battery does the same. If I dont use the GPS for a week when I take it out the battery is dead. I find this very odd for a unit that is not on. I brought back my original one thinking that the battery was a dud but the new one is the same

A couple of hours is actually normal for TT units. You can extend the battery life by REALLY turning your unit off between units. That's done by doing a reset while the unit seems to be off using the power button. Turning it 'off' via the power button really just puts the unit in Hibernate mode, it's still drawing power.

The 340S uses the hold-the-button reset, not a pin reset. So there's no way (that I know of) to turn it fully off, it just goes into a sleep mode that does slowly drain the battery.
