Battery Life

I have a brand new Tom Tom One 3rd Edition that we got for Christmas. Came late, so we've had it for about 2 weeks now.

One of the awesome features was the portable feature. However, we've found the battery life is 30 - 45 minutes! To me that's not portable!!

Is that normal for the Tom Tom One?? What's your unplugged battery life like?

Specs say 2 hours for my XL-S so that's probably only in the best of conditions. If the unit is cold, I've read that the battery life is even less.

I recently got a wall charger and have taken the fully charged unit out the past couple of days and I'm only seeing about what you're seeing....no where near two hours. mine was purchased new in October.

there are settings such as the backlight which you can turn down (I've done 'em) and an hour at most is what I see.

I'm getting almost 3 hours on a charge. No joke.

if you want to kill your battery, just leave the cig lighter adapter in when you start the car. it kills your battery.

Remember guy's when using it in a portable way to turn down the screen brightness, voice, the screen between commands to help conserve power.
