I only use my unit (TomTom One) about once a fortnight and find the battery is always completely flat when I come to use it the next time. Even if I fully charge it, turn it off, and leave it off it will be flat in about a week. Is this normal?
If your model has a reset hole in the bottom (it would be marked, but maybe not too clearly), then push a paperclip or equivalent in the hole for about 10 deconds.
If your model does NOT have the reset hole, then pressing and holding the power button for about 20 seconds does the same thing
simply shutting the tomtom one down via the menu does not totally shut it off. Something still runs internally and draws current. My one also pretty much depletes the battery after about a week in this condition.
using a pin reset shuts it completely off and if you're not using it for while this is what you should do. I left mine for a month recently after a pin reset with no battery loss.
You also see a big difference in boot up time after a pin reset. It takes much longer. Normal shutdown is just like a lot of TV's etc where internal components are kept fired up to provide a much faster startup.
