I recently got a new 920 (910 was smashed and grabbed Thanksgiving  ) and connected to tthome to peform backup. I made the mistake of updating the quick fix prior to backup. I am not sure, but don't think a full backup occurred since when I check my computers hard drive I see the following File folders:
Tomtom
Home
Backup
Go
Backup01
InternalMemory
North_America
Brand
Then the following .dat files
cnode.dat
crpoi.dat
cspeech_AK.dat
cspeech_AL.dat
cspeech_AR.dat
cspeech_AZ.dat
cspeech_CA.dat

And that's it.

When I look at the device all the files seem to be there:
art
ASR
audiobooks
bin and so on ending with
zip

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

I tried doing the backup process again with the same results. Isn't the backup supposed to copy all the files from the tomtom to the computer? I will probably just copy the files directly from the tomtom to the computer via explorer, but I am trying to figure out why it doesn't work properly through tthome.

Any thoughts?

Yes.....as you wander through various forums, you will see many mentions of the fact that you should always backup your unit using Explorer, not TTHome.

Having said that, do you have Windows set via folder options to show all files, including hidden files? If not, set it for that and THEN do an Explorer backup.

so what do you do if you need to restore your TT? If I copy my entire TT info using explorer to a folder on my PC when I need to restore it how does that work?
