Backup diffculties

I did a search before writing this but no luck, however I'm sure others have had this problem. I got a new puter and have installed TTH on it, logged in etc, but the backup locks up at 1% in citing an error. I tried several times, to no avail. Also when I check for updates it says they are already on my device and do I want them anyway, I click 'no to all' and then no to maps I already have. Any advice?

did you install HOME from the cd it gave you or from www.tomtom.com/home ?

from the CD....and I was asked whether I wanted to download the latest version etc, which I did.

Try uninstalling TTH first and reboot. Now starting from scratch, download TTH from the link Pedro gave and try it again.

I just bought mine the other day and when I connected it to the PC I let it download from TT and it worked just fine. I'm using XP

Pedro I'm running XP Home edition, AVG anti-virus.....don't have any problems downloading usually and use skype no problem. We even tried a backup from the original computer (laptop) that TTH was set up on and the same problem occurred, at the same point.

Strange.
My last suggestion is to run the clear flash tool found below

If this doesn't work, then contact TT Support

thanks pedro I went to the link and it says I may need to activate my map again after using the flash tool (also the problem I'm experiencing, is not in the list of potential problems) and that will need to be done for each SD card. I don't have any cards, all the maps are on the unit. I'm worried I may not be able to re-activate my maps.

okay so it seems this problem is too difficult can someone at least tell me how to contact tom tom support, emailing them produces nothing and I can't find any reference to a phone contact in Italy let alone Europe.....anybody?

It looks like you have to email them to call you or something.
