I just noticed Tomtom is selling this accessory dock for the GO 1000.

It includes a USB charger connection, and an "line out connector".

When I looked at the FCC test site more carefully, I noticed that the "headphone jack" test only shows up with the car mount, so perhaps the audio out is a part of the mount, and not the GO 1000 unit itself.

That seems to be the case, mvl. If you use the right arrow on the link you've provided, it shows the rear view of the mount with the (apparent) audio out port on the right side and the mini-usb port on the left side.

Interesting about the mimi-usb port, eh?

Indeed the Pro-Clip/ Brodit style mount for the Go-1000 has the docking connector as an integral part of the mounting shoe. It must also contain some sort of PCB to access the audio signals that are present on the docking connector in the base of the device.

The accessory mount is a rather strange idea to me forcing the owner to purchase the accessory mount, a mini USB car charger along with a Pro-Clip to suit whatever vehicle they drive, I guess this leaves the cable supplied with the Go-1000 device to be used with the PC though which is a small plus point - Mike
