Audio issue?

I have the TomTom 720 and I noticed that occasional the audio gets really crackly, similar to if you had a blown speak in a car. That same buzzing type sound.

At first I thought maybe it was because I had my audio cranked up to 100% so I turned it down to 85% and still it does it from time to time. Is this normal or could there be an issue?

My unit was a refurb so perhaps they missed something in the process? If that's the case I'll probably take it back and get a 730 or maybe even a 9 series.

If a computer voice, the crackling often occurs if the battery is running low. Perhaps with non tts voices as well. Check that.

That happened to me until I realized that the line out cable was bad and replaced it.

Speaking of battery, the unit holds a charge for about 1hr too. That can't be normal?

It had it charging on it's dock all night. I ran it to work this morning (30min drive) and then to meet a friend for lunch (10min drive) and then it was dead.

It depends what you do and have one. Do you have it playing mp3? Is the bluetooth on? What are the bright settings?

Bright settings ar eup all the way but I don't use the unit for MP3's, Pics, Bluetooth etc. Strictly GPS.

Some say they have found a pin reset tends to extend battery life. Can't verify for myself.
