Rider 2
I recently purchased the Rider2. I find the headset that came with the unit uncomfortable.

I also ride in an area where helmets aren't mandatory.

Has anyone connected a "bluetooth speaker" to the device to hear audio prompts?

If so, which make and model?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi 291

Just curious, the headset that comes with Rider2's attaches to your helmet and should cause no discomfort if mounted correctly. If you choose to ride with no helmet, you will need to purchase an alternative speaker. Tomtom make an accessory "car mount" for using you Rider when not on a motorcycle. This requires a cigarette lighter power outlet to supply the electical current to power the Rider. These units are designed to work inside the cab of a motor vehicle and I doubt that the audio prompts would be able to be heard at highway speed on a motorcycle.
I have not tried one of the ear mounted bluetooth hands-free units for use with cell phones, but suggest that this may be the best option to investigate. There are a large range available and I am sure that at least a few will link to the Rider. Others may be able to advise.
I find the supplied, helmet mounted, head set works very well.

Same comments as PC. How can it be uncomfortable when it doesnt touch your head?

I would suspect that you could get a BT headset of some sort, but then you will be "wearing" it.

Cheers!

Whenever I ride wearing my helmet, I receive the audio through the "Cardo Scala" Speakers. The Cardo Scala is a small Bluetooth unit that has two speakers and a microphone which you mount yourself. I receive both incoming phone-calls, and verbal directions from the TT Rider through it. It also has an FM receiver built-into it, which was more than I could ask for in such a small and uncombersome unit. I've used mine for two-years now without any problems/issues whatsoever. I'd recommend looking into one, it may just be the solution. Good luck!

Rubber-side down...

I too wanted to just hear the commands without the scala headset whereas I wear a shorty helmet. I have been able to pair up a bluetooth headset the wife had, and listen to the TTR2. The next day I could not get it to work again. In subsequent efforts it seems that if I turn on the device first, then the TTR it will work every time.
