I've been told by the TT Geek squad (that's the next level up past your normal flip chart customer support) that TT and AT&T won't play together to allow a data link. I was told it was a crap shoot as to what model of phone you used, I am using the Motorola Q 9h with windows mobile 6. I figured it might have to do with TT uses Linux OS and I'm using Billy Gates OS. The Geek-ett I spoke with said that TT (Euopean based) works fine with all the EU countries, in the USA each phone carrier has different standards and TT hasn't accomadated all those issues. Has anyone been able to establish a data link with AT&T and their TT?

Has anyone been able to establish a data link with AT&T and their TT?

In short - yes. I'm using Nokia 6682 (former Cingual, now AT&T). Not sure if you were able to sync your phone, but assuming that you did, when it asks you to establish data link connection, try this:

1.Click YES to establish connection.
2.It will most likely go to 65%-70% and it will say that it is not able to complete.
3.Click on MANUAL setting.
4.Select USA.
5.Select AT&T (I believe it said "AT&T Wireless").
6.A screen will pop-up asking to enter "proxy" DELETE the word "proxy".
7.Leave username and password fields blank.
8.Select AUTOMATIC for the next two screens (DHTP and something else).

After you made those selections/settings, it will go through the rest of the process and it should say "100% complete." Make sure you have TT account already created and enter your account e-mail and PASSWORD (as you use to login online!) and VOLA! TT Traffic and Services should work...

Hope this works...

I will give it a shot, but I have seen all sorts of scenarios and non have worked as of yet...but what the hell...

Data link and AT&T

Thanks Cerberus, I loved my old Nokia 6682, only problem it was the 1st generation phone and none of the new features worked on 1st gen. phones.
Anyway I tried your above suggestions, what do I do when it asks for a "dial number"? That window is before "Login". Under phone listings the MOTO Q (global/9h) is not listed so I pick "other". I have an account with TT established. BT works fine.
Thanks,
Charlie

What do I do when it asks for a "dial number"?

If I remember correctly, it should say something like #99*.. whatever the number is inserted there, leave it as it is. The only thing YOU need to change is simply delete the word "proxy" (the first thing that pops up when you do the manual setting) and that's it.

Good luck!

CharlieS,
I have a ATT 8525 (originally cingular before the merger) and after much trial and tribulation I got my data connection go work the my TT920.

See if this helps:

1. Disable your media net connectivity via the comm manager
2. Pair your phone via bluetooth
3. After paring you phone, go into manages phones on TT and disable hands free calling.
4. Setup you data connection - when prompted use cingular media works

Thats what worked and has been working for me. My only issues is, if im on all call and the traffice tries to update, the call drops. Also after your trip you may need to power your phone off/on to get media services back.

Hope this helps
