"herd of animals in road", on I-440 Inner Loop/US1 North

Hilarious. Whatever it was, it was gone by the time I drove through that area.

I'm loving traffic. Used it later in the day to beat the client back to our location by 5 minutes.

I am in NC too....

Where did you get your rds-tmc? How much? Does it work well in NC? What wireless carrier do you have? I have a bluetooth phone, can I connect to the tomtom one with it? My phone does not "see" it when I search.

I don't have RDS-TMC, I have Plus Services Traffic pushed thru my cel's bluetooth

I'm using a Blackberry Pearl with an older version of firmware that allows data "push" thru the phone to an external Bluetooth equipped device, in this case, the GO 720. This way, you don't have to buy and use the RDS antenna or pay another $75.00 per year for the service. Traffic works well and you can choose whether or not you're alerted and/or re-routed when traffic issues arise.

One thing I've noticed is that I'll get alerts for upcoming traffic issues that go away by the time I get to the location of the alert. In some cases, the issue goes away, like congestion that dissipates, or a wreck that is cleared, but in other instances there seems to be a time lag in the reporting network, probably human-caused, that delays new, updated info from getting into "the system" as quickly as possible.
