I was just updating my TT after about a week or so without updates, and I just received the following error. Any ideas what's causing this, or if it's something wrong with my TT or HOME? Anyone else getting this error? I have a TT 540 WTE with the latest Mac OSX TT HOME software.

Error detail:

Thanks.

There's another thread in the XL forum, I think, that makes clear that the most recent safety camera update is problematic for lots of people. Probably bad files being served by TT. Do you updates on whatever else, but deselect the safety cameras for the moment.

Don't think it's fixed yet...my XXL540TM still won't download anything safety camera related. If I try to pick the free one for US/Can the download just errors out...has been doing this for months now. It's sad because everyone I know with an XXL540TM (2 people) has their safety camera option working. I'm thinking there is something screwed with mine. Anyone know how to completely delete the Tomtom and redownload the software only (no backup/restore)...just start clean again with latest app/maps?

Nope - still broken. In order to get other updates, just DESELECT the traffic cam data and the remainder of the items shown should come through OK. Just tried to update my 740, and saw the same silliness:

If it's a corrupt download, you may find you have to delete it all from your PC before you can get new updates. (This also happens with things like the GPS Quickfix files)

GO to C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\fuelprice (that's the XP structure, Vista and Win 7 is slightly different) and delete the folders in there.

Noting the 500 error in my log, it's clear that it was the server barfing as opposed to a corrupted file on my end. They're having issues still. I never received anything at all.

For the OP's case, though - looks like trouble with a defective *.cab file download from a previous attempt. I'd clear those files out as you suggest or nothing new is likely to show up for a bit.
