After updating it keeps switching its self off

After plugging my TomTomOne 3rd Edition into my laptop to update,I got back this error message

Error Reading File F\United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland\Map Server Patch.dat
@.\portable\Cfile.Cpp(1938)

I went to use it the following day,it turned on ok and took in the postcode ok,within a short period of time it rebooted its self,or should I say left its self on the opening page,from then it would not accept anything.I tried it again 2 days later only for the same to happen

Would a Reset help?

I would use Explorer, not Home, to make a backup of the unit's contents. Then delete all the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents.

Connect to Home and get the application installed. Disconnect properly from Home using the Device Disconnect icon.

When you get to the postcode entry screen there should be a small flag top right corner, if this is set to anything other than UK it will crash the device.

There is no way to change the flag from UK on the device you need to connect it to the PC and use the Operate My TomTom from within the Home software to change the flag - Mike
