Adding Voices?

Hello All, Just joined the group!

My question is, is it possible to add voices? My friends got a UK version of TomTom and the British Woman's Voice is cool and I'd like to have that on my US version.

Is that possible?

I'm new here and new to TomTom. I set up my 130S this week with a couple of extra voices from TomTom HOME, but only the "computer" voices will read out the street names. The 'voices' screen tells you which ones will work with TTS (Text-to-Speech)...and there aren't many.

The TomTom HOME web site has the extra voices. Many are free; some are not. The celebrity voices are not.

Personally, I put celeb voices in the same rubbish bin as "custom vehicle icons" from those other guys. Imagine, a flying pizza slice on your map. But I digress.

Basically, depending if you have text-to-speech available on your unit, you can add ?fantasy? (celebrity) or computer (synthetic) voices using Home. What you need to know is that computer voices are a few screens further down in the selections. The first screen will offer ?add voices? which only offer celebrity voices and the computer voices are a separate selection on another screen in Home. You may need to change the selection criteria from ?recommended? to ?all available? to see all choices on the top of the menu.
