adding sd card to one xl.s

Hello, I just picked up a one the other day. So far I enjot it quit a bit. And was thinking of adding a sd card. I have read here of people adding a 2gig card. What I would love to know is if anyone has ever used to lager 4 gig sd cards?
In addittion to adding a sd card I hope to add the trafic attenia one day soon.

Thank you so much for your replay. I was hoping that I could, but didn't know since I haden't found any info here about 4gig cards. I have only had mine for three days, and love it so far. But plan on addind a 4gig sd card, possible buying a us plains map. If it has more detail that the usa/canada map I have now. And hopfully soon getting the traffis ant.

I just put in a 2 gig card. That doubles the memory. For the most part I have a few voices, color schemes and 15 ro 18 itineraries on it. I still have one gig free. Keep in mind, when you add an SD card you copy the system to the card then, when the card is in the unit boots from the card. Unless you plan on adding many many voices, color schemes and itineraries a 4 gig card is a waste in the XL. I only used the 2 gig card because I had a few laying around collecting dust. As for the plains map, from what I understand the maps are the same as you have on your system now. Just a smaller area is covered. This would save memory if you never planned on traveling the rest of the US or Canada. This would be unnessary if you plan on using a card over 1 gig anyway. Double check the coverage map on the traffic ant and make sure there is coverage in areas you plan on traveling.

Sorry to bust your bubble on these things, so to speak. I have just went through all that trying to add new stuff to my XL. I hope it is of help. One thing that is a great addition is the TomTom XL case http://www.tomtom.com/products/accessories/accessory.php?ID=365. Good protection from dropping but more so against rain and snow when taking it out of the vehicle. Get Tyre http://www.tyre.tk/ and learn how to use it to plan itineraries. I have itn's for even my shortest ventures out. I use the voice "Lori". As I say, "Lori, Don't leave home without her!"

Keep in mind that SDHC cards don't work on the One series.

You didn't search enough as I did a writeup on my experience with a TopRam 4GB SDHC on my XL-S and did a followup on my experience in the same thread. Do a search on TopRam and my name as thread starter and you will have a fairly detailed report... I am still using it.
