I know you can charge the 920 using the docking station or cigarette lighter but where can I find an AC charger to charge the unit when I am away from the docking station? It seems so much easier to be able to use a charger plugged into the wall when it is not in use.

TomToms get their power from a standard USB power source, be it a computer or a dedicated power supply that plugs into a car or into the wall. You can find USB wall units on eBay for under $5.

Will any Motorola phone charger work or only certain ones? I do not wish to blow up my new 920.

No, any Motorola charger will not necessarily work. Some use very different connectors, for example, let alone perhaps supplying different voltages.

Any USB charger will work. That's what you need to look for. They're available all over the place at eBay. Cheap. Plug it into the car or the wall as appropriate, plug your computer-to-TomTom USB cable into it, plug the other end into TomTom.

ac charger for Motorola phone with a USB connector

I have one of these. It outputs 5 volts at 550ma. So the real question is a) is that the right voltage and b) is the voltage at the right pins in the USB connector. The worst case would be that the voltage may be too high or the polarity could be reversed.

If it's USB it's USB. Voltages are standard and pinouts are standard. Current capacity is easily sufficient.

I was also looking at this and found on ebay that the output of the OEM razor charger was over the 5 volts that is commonly found on usb devices. The one I saw on ebay actually showed the output at 7.2 volts. I am not sure on how this will affect the tomtom

If it says USB and 7.2 volts, run away from it as fast as you can. The seller doesn't know what he's doing.

thanks, I took the voltage output right off of the unit, I am now finding other units with the 5volts on them on ebay generally $7 shipped.
