A few questions.

In staten island NY there are several roads that show as you are driving but if you try to plan a trip, these same roads do not show up as roads you can plan a trip to. Any ideas why?

Also, my Tom Tom us hanging up and not connecting on my second computer but I do not have the base and I am using a cord that came for my camera. The device is being reconginzed by Vista and drivers are installed ok but Home doesnt recognize the device. Do you have to use that base that comes with the 720?

Just a guess......

Perhaps, when planning a trip, you selected 'fastest' and the unit believes these roads not to fall into that category so chooses not to show them when planning a route but, in normal driving with no route planned, there is no restriction as to 'fastest' (or 'shortest') so all roads show ....

I would think the raods would still show on map just not be sent down them if they do not fit the route setting. I had a major road not show up on my 720 yesterday that I feel should have been there.

If that is what it is doing than that is retarded. I am pretty unhappy with Tom Toms performance in the USA as a product. i have rented the Garmin from budget and it was 500x better.
