Quick warning for anybody considering the purchase of the 950 Live. I'm on my 3rd unti now having first bought one in June. Had about 1 week problem free use and after latest App updates the device just keeps freezing and is unusable. 3 returns later and the problem is still the same.

Anybody else experiencing the same issue?

Hi there,

I am not a 950 user - mine is a 940.

But I haven't had any such bad experiences with my Tom Tom.

Can you elaborate on what exactly is wrong.

It would help people on this forum to help you, if you give the details of:
  • Where you bought your 950 (which country? USA/UK/Europe/Australia?)
  • What exactly do you mean by latest App updates?
  • Did you take a full back up (a MS Windows Explorer) of the device while the unit was still working at all?

It is hard to believe that you got the unit replaced three times and none of them are working at all. There must be something else that is wrong - and they all can not give you the same problem IMHO.

Tom tom don't care..

Hi Mr. B fancy seeing you here. :)

I'm sorry I've have virtually the same experience with these " Cow Boys " calling themselves tom tom and masquerading as a reputable company.

I'm suffering same as the poor guy above.

Others have posted that Mapshare POIs are causing 950's to crash quite frequently.

In Tomtom HOME, go to Tools -> mapshare -> remove corrections. And then whenever you do "update my GO", decline the mapshare POI (you can download regular mapshare if you still choose).

See if that helps.
