930 up grade...

does any body have an idea on how soon we could expect the 930 replacement, hope it will have a lot of fixes. didn't like the 930 much..

What do you mean replacement? A recall or something like a 940 model? I have a 930 and other then crappy battery life it's fine.

As for the 930....I have it and if you STAY AWAY from the 8.010 application and stick with the 8.002 application it is a very good device.

My 930 running the 805 NA and WE maps and the 8.002 application runs perfect without any problems.


As stated....stay away from the 8.010....when I was running the 8.010 my 930 was junk !....restarts....reboots....wouldn't shutdown....startup at random times....etc.

I have the go 930. It has App 8.010 N.A. map 805.1801 So far I'm not having the problems you experienced.

But I'd like to know the difference between the two. Can you tell me how you installed the older Apps version?

My 930 came with 8.002 installed....So I had a backup from when I first bought it.

After upgrading to the 8.010 the problems started.

So after a week or two and a couple of calls to TT ( which was of no help ) and a couple of times returning to 8.002 and then to 8.010.... I just used my original backup to return to 8.002.


As for the difference....TT has little to say " minor improvements ".

But if you search the many internet forums....many people are having problems with the 8.010.

Some of the forums report that TT has pulled the 8.010 from download ( again ).


Here is link to download the 8.002....if you wish to experiment....I'm sure one of the many more experienced members can explain how to install....( but if you're not having any problems with 8.010, why downgrade )....there is no noticeable difference in functions or menu.
