I just bought a brand new 920T unit and the first time i turned it on, it cam up in some cryptic foreign language and i have no idea how to set it to US English....help!!!

If its the first time the unit has been switched on, then it wiil ask you for your desired settings. Even though you can't read what's written usually there are two choices only which are for "accept/yes" or "reject/no". Don't be afraid as nothing can happen to the device. It will eventually take you to the page for language selection (green background). On the other hand, are you able to see the main menu? If not try a hard reset (pin reset) then click on the "wrench" icon which is for Change preferences then click the right arrow until you see the "lips" icon which is for Change voice.

Okay, I got the language set to us english. Now my problem is that the unit thinks I'm in western europe and everytime i turn it on, it asks me to change to the western europe map even tho i set my home setting to my address here in the states. Also when i try to sync the clock, it syncs to 6 hours ahead of central us time. How do i set it so it knows I'm in texas and not western europe?

Go to Change preferences - Manage maps - Switch map and select the US map. The unit you got must have been intended for Europe and was mistakenly shipped to the US.

Also having same problem!!

I also have not been able to get this thing out of the foreign language. I have been able to change the spoken voice but not the display language. Help me please - I cant wait to use this thing!!
