When connected to my PC (XP) with the dock my new 920 charges OK - green light on. However, it does not connect with TomTom Home. Status is device is not plugged in - in TomTom system information. This is when logged in.

Further, I have difficulty in getting logged in. TomTom Home doed not accept my password. I then request a password change and the new one is accepted until the next reboot - when I have to do it again

Any thoughts? Thanks

J Davis

Don't know about the password issues, but on my 920T it won't connect to the computer unless it's already turned on when I plug it in. This is different from the 720 I had for awhile. It would start up and connect to the computer all by itself when plugged in.

Actually I prefer the way the 920 behaves, since more often than not I just want to charge it when plugged in and I don't want to mount it on the computer.

Received my 920 yesterday. I too am having the same problem with the unit not connecting properly to the PC.

I was able to back it up yesterday. Total backup time seemed relatively short compared to 40 minute backup of TT910. It only took 10 minutes to backup, and never gave me any options, such as to back up the voices.

Upgraded Home to version 2.1, and it made no difference. USB port and cradle are recognized, unit asks if I want to connect to the PC...which I answer yes, Home is running, 920's display shows a cradled pic of the 920 against a yellow and white background with the model designation appearing in the top right of the screen.

Anything I click on in Home takes me to a screen with large letters stating "Connect your Tom Tom device", with a few steps listed underneath. My email address shows up in the top right of this screen. Then absolutelty nothing happens...everything just sits.

thanks Boyd

Got my 920T yesterday, installed tomtom home put it on the cradle it

home pushed the reset set put it back on cradel it connected.
Tryed what you said and it works ever time. Thanks Bob
