TomTom Model(s)
GO 910
Since upgrading my 910 to V7 I can not get the phone handsfree audio to play through the audio out jack.
It was working just fine before with the enable_lineout_hands_free file loaded at the root directory. Does anyone have a fix for this yet?

i can confirm handsfree is giving trouble in the new firmware. yesterday while i was having a conversation using the handsfree, my tomtom speaker freezes for 20 seconds.

Remove the enable_lineout_hands_free file, this feature is now set through an option on the TomTom. There was a conflict with my 910 and this work around when I upgraded, I removed all version 6 hacks from my unit and it is performing perfectly.

I started out with a clean system. I reformated the drive before applying V7 then added the voices and maps back so the patch was not there. I do not find any option to adjust the phone audio on the V7 lite that was released for the 910. You say that your handsfree audio is working through the audio line out jack?

I received answer from TomTom support regarding hands free calling and new Navcore:

"There will be an update released shortly which should allow you to make hands free calls on version 7 of the software without any difficulties. In the mean time if you wish to use hands free calling, please downgrade to version 6 of the software as follows:...."

I'm having other stability problems too. The voice prompts are shuddering and the system keeps crashing and rebooting. I think I will have to downgrade until TomTom gets it together and releases a stable product.

My handsfree is messed up with V7 too. It repeats parts of the conversation, this gets faster and faster until the unit locks up.

Does anyone have any details on how to downgrade?

It is important that you uninstall TomTom HOME first. Then in My Documents delete the following two folders
Delete these folders in My Documents:

Then restart your computer. Then download TomTom HOME again from www.tomtom.com/home
It is very important that you do not update to HOME 2.0, keep on using TomTom HOME 1.5 instead.
Then make a backup of your device using TomTom HOME before proceeding with the instructions below:

2. Go to my computer (in the computer itself and not in home)

4. Open the TomTom drive
5. Remove all of the loose files (do not remove anything in yellow folders or the yellow folders themselves)
6. Then download and unzip the attachment found on the URL below

Thanks. I managed to copy all the files from a recent backup on to the 910 using windows explorer and that got me back to version 6. Handsfree is working again and the navigation voice is back to crisp and clear.

I upgraded to Home 2.0 before I saw this. I did not realize when it uninstalled Home 1.5 it also blew away my previous backups. Now I'm hosed.

How do I save my downloaded Map and then reinstall that?

Still having problems

I cannon get to page 1 to read the other messages but I just wanted to let you guys know, I just updated to another new version that was supposed to fix these problems. Guess what it didn't. This is as of 21 November 2007 @ 1800 hours. The blustooth with the motorola razr still doesn't connect for hands free. I ended up going back to version 6.51. So that 2 updates 7.16 and now the latest one that I didn't even get the version number for the TT910. Lets complain more and maybe http://www.yourNAV.com will post another article about the complaints and they will try and fix it again.

Version 6.15 works great. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM That after 2 new updates that it still doesn't work. Got back and read the code and see where ya screwed up.

That my 2 cents.

Maybe after affering so much money for the mapping company they want us to buy a new TomTom every 9 months to keep up with the new programs. I myself can't afford it.

I have updated to v7.161 three days ago and paired and unpaired my phone, reset unit using pin method and still phone audio is not coming out via the line-out jack. Music and nav instructions do work as usual.

Improvements I've noticed so far are a very fast sat lock and improved phone audio (of course via internal speaker only).

Hmm firstly that link is for home version 2 not 1.5.
Secondly you will delete all the 1.5 backups you took previously.
Thirdly you lose all your favourites which you coudl have gotten back from a 1.5 backup.
