740 LIVE INTERNAL FUSE

Does anyone know if the 740 live has an internal fuse.Like an idiot i replaced the factory cig lighter plug because it was broken with a Radio Shack cig lighter plug not knowing anything about the voltage that the unit operates with.So i hardwired the old lead into the new plug and commenced to plugging it in the cig lighter and obviously applying 12 volts to the unit.Thats when things went wrong.The unit lit up for about 3 seconds and went off,and that was all she wrote.Please tell me that there is an internal fuse.I took the unit apart and couldn't find one,then again i don't know exactly what i am looking for. Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.
