720 mount help

I just went to put mount in car as I just got my afterarket adapter and it does not snap into place like I think it should. Does that button on back snap into mount to keep it secure. I tried the TT vactory mount and 1 time in 10 tries it did snap in. Is there a trick here??


Well I just drove the car. I mounted the aftermarket snaplock mount to my dash with a disk and the whole unit shakes so bad on a smooth road you cannot even see the screen to look at the road you are on and the adapter is so sloppy you can pull the bottom of the 720 almost 1/4 inch out and just touch it upwards and it totally falls off the mount. It has bounced off the console to the floor once already because of this issue with the stupit mounting system this uses. My TT1 is rock solid this

UPDATE I got mad and took a small file and filed the new adapter so it would go into the TT720 and it now does snap in place and then I took mount and mounted it on dash tight against dash with know for swiveling and took a 1/8" peice of solid rubber and then forced it inbetween know and dash to make it not flex. It seems tigher. I will know later tomarrow how it works.


Anybody else here have the mount not attach to the device tight

I got my mount from the mountguys. Awsome place to buy from. It is the dash and disk that is flexing. The disk will lift a bit so the weight of the 720 is pulling the disk up a bit on a rough surface road from bouncing. I have placed a popcicle stick under mount arm to brace it a bit not as bad as before but still vibrates some. I will have to rethink my new mounting place and maybe so back to windshield where it was rock solid

is there any possible harm to the tomtom with the vent mount?
will it either chill or heat the unit to its detriment?
doe they fit in all cars?
