720 and sd card

I just purchased the 720 and it has a little sticker over the sd slot - no SD required. There is a card in the slot (pleasant surprise:) ). When I connect to the computer it shows two additional drives - one drive has all the TomTom files and the other drive, when I try and open it says insert a disk. I'm assuming that is the SD slot on the 720. What do I need to do to be able to add files to it? Also played around with music and pics and they all went to the drive with the 720 files, I want to put them on the SD card. Can someone tell me how to do that?

Thanks!

the card in the slot just a piece of plastic tomtom use to fill up the slot hole, it's not a sd card. You have to buy another card and put it in the slot to be able to use it.

Janet,

Make sure this isn't just the dummy card.

That said you can do this two ways:

the manual way and the tomtom home way

Manual:
You need to create an MP3 Folder, and photo folder on your sd card.
then all you need to do is drag and drop music and photos to the corresponding folders.

Tomtom Home:

Connect your go 720 via usb. Your tomtom will ask you if you would like to connect to the computer. Select Yes. Then you will be asked to choose from internal or external memory. Choose external memory. After selecting this option it's going to automatically want to update your tomtom. Here you can either update or just select back. This will bring you to the main menu.
Click on add maps, traffic, voices etc. Then you will be presented with some selections, in your case you want to click on the MORE button. This will bring you to the second selection page, here you will see pictures, music, voices etc. Make your selection and add your files accordingly.

hope this helps

Are you using a Windows PC? With removable media it's not uncommon for Windows PC's to show a drive even when a disk isn't present.

It will show up as a removable drive even if no card is installed. All card readers work in that fashion.
