Hi I have hard the 5250 for 2 months now, not impressed, it quite often reboots itself approx 5 times a day. This is most annoying. I don't see anybody else having this problem. Can someone help please?

Nav4 units (the 5250 is one) is a lot more stable than it started out. Is the firmware on your unit current?

Hi there, I'm having issues trying to get the latest updates for my tomtom. How do I check for the latest firmware? sorry to sound silly but I'm not used to this device, I much preferred the go 730. Not impressed with this one :(:(:(

Have you installed MyDrive on your PC yet? It's the interface for (among other things) updating firmware on your 5250.

Yeah I've installed it but still no joy, I've rang up the seller who is an agent for tomtom who are looking into this. I've even tried it on my other laptop and that is exactly the same. I should have map updates for life. I'm still on map 935.xxxx and I believe the latest version is 945.xxxx but not giving me the option to download it to my 5250.

I don't know what the program is over there for 5250 units and map subscriptions, so can't say whether 945 should have been made available to you or not, but from what you say, yes -- 945 should have been waiting for you on MyDrive. I'm sure the 'truck' version of that map was already released.

Ah - let me ask just ONE question... you did not, by ANY chance, try to re-use your old email address that was used to register your GO730 for this new unit, did you?

Sounds like you have a good contact on your end, so let us know how this is working out as it goes forward.

Repeating question ...

"you did not, by ANY chance, try to re-use your old email address that was used to register your GO730 for this new unit, did you?"
