I have received 3 different Via 1505 and NONE of them are recognized by my PC, nor can they be charged by a USB ( tried different chords), or by my car . I paid for a new one, but believe they are sending me a refub one each time. Not sure at this point if a new one will work any better. Hard to believe I got 3 bad ones, not sure what to do now besides ask for a refund...

Odds of the 3 units being the problem are pretty slim. However, there were battery issues in the past.

Let's start with the obvious. Have any of these units worked when plugged in? Do they continue to work, as long as external power is supplied?
On a menu page in 'Settings' about two arrows to the 'left', you will find 'Battery status'. Select that. With the unit plugged in, do you see 'Status: Charging', and 'Source: External power adapter'?

None of the units worked when plugged in...Battery does not show, or does not charge at all on any system and just drains to a very low amount upon checking. I have looked everywhere on Settings, with the unit on a USB port and do not find 'Battery status"..

It's possible I am mistaken about the menu system for the 1005, but I was certain that the Via 1535 was similar. I assume you've tried them on a wall charger as well?
When you connect to your PC, does it indicate that it knows that something has been connected?

No my PC indicates that the unit is not connected..I do not see a battery symbol at any time, ( except a few seconds before it shuts off and shows the battery with a very low charge). I have tried re-booting my PC,, checking the Flash drive, turning the unit on and off... Nothing works...
