140S for just tracking miles driven

I am sure this is answered somewhere here, I did search - but proly could not come up with proper name.

I am a completely new to GPS's (as all you can proly tell from my question)

I want to just hit a starting point where I am, and start driving, and have the map up and have it show the miles I have driven. (No navagition really I just want it to tell me how far I have gone and maybe how fast I am going).

Can this be done on my 140S?

Trip Master Does work on 140S

A kind of side note Tripmaster v3.1 (and the Program for Tomtom v8.x or v9.x compliance) does work on this TomTom 140S.

I just D/L it and them both and unzip - then drop the unzipped files in the root dir of the 140S

And it will do what I want (Even has the Map behind it)

So If I can read up here on how to add tripmaster to the quick menu I am all set.

(Unless someone tells me how to do it with the base unit)
