100X out of date? No SD slot!

I found this notice on the new 800 series and the new 20 series:

"? Built-in MicroSD slot, which will enable drivers to access even richer content in the future. This will be enabled via a software update in summer 2011"

Does this mean that the 1005 is ouf-of-date and wont get the new features????????

I'd just call that another bit of TomTom marketing gobbledygook.

"Eeven richer content in the future" is just TT-speak for ever-larger and larger maps

It was obviously a really STUPID decision to try to phase out the SD card slots, and TT have shot themselves in the foot with the consequent "zoned maps" farrago in Europe.

So they are quietly bring it back again, but
I can't think of any other actual "new features" that you'll be missing.
